Bio

Ms. Benazir Fathima is a Physiotherapist in the Department of Physiotherapy at the Motor City branch of Medcare Medical Centre. She completed her Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy (BPT) from SRM University, Chennai and a Masters in Physiotherapy (MPT) in Orthopaedics from Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, India. She further qualified herself with a Masters in Medical Sociology from Madras University, India and a Certification in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (COMT).

Ms. Fathima began her career as a Physiotherapist in India and then worked in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. During her early years, she worked at Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital in Chennai and then moved to Saudi Arabia to join the Prince Sultan Armed Forces Hospital. Subsequently, she relocated to the UAE and served as a Senior Physiotherapist with Prime Healthcare in Dubai before joining Medcare.

She assists patients in recovering from sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions and is skilled at delivering manual therapy, manipulation and mobilization, as well as designing strengthening programs. Ms. Fathima uses manual therapy techniques including Mulligan mobilisation with movement, geriatric rehabilitation, myofascial release, dry cupping and clinical dry-needling, trigger point release, muscle energy techniques, neural mobilisation, spinal rehabilitation, postural correction and kinesiology taping techniques.
She is proficient in treating acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions that involve the spine, shoulder, elbow, knee, ankle and hip, pre-operative and post-operative treatment for spinal surgeries, fractures, replacement surgeries, repairs and reconstruction surgeries. She is particularly concerned with women’s health, prevention of sports injuries, managing stress or overuse injuries and paediatric rehabilitation.

In her spare time, Ms. Fathima enjoys reading books and watching movies. She speaks Arabic, English, Malayalam and Tamil.
