Psychomotor Therapist
Farah is a dedicated Psychomotor Therapist with over 16 years of experience, passionate about helping children grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.
I hold both a Bachelor’s (2008) and a Master’s (2012) in Psychomotor Therapy from Saint Joseph University of Beirut.
My mission is to create a warm, nurturing, and supportive environment where every child feels safe to explore, develop, and overcome challenges—all while building confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
Using a personalized and holistic approach, I work closely with families, teachers, and professionals to ensure that each child receives the right support for their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development. Whether through clinical therapy, school-based intervention, or family guidance, I am committed to supporting children from infancy through adolescence with the skills they need to succeed.
I have spent over a decade working with NGOs, supporting children and families in refugee camps. My work has focused on enhancing children’s emotional well-being, developing their skills, and fostering confidence and independence. Additionally, I have led workshops and training sessions for teachers and parents, providing practical strategies to support children’s development, especially in low-resource settings.
Beyond clinical practice, I have also worked extensively in schools as both a therapist and a special education department coordinator, ensuring that children receive the support they need for better social, emotional, and educational integration.

Psychomotor therapy helps children develop essential motor, cognitive, and emotional skills through movement, play, and interactive activities. It strengthens their balance, coordination, focus, and emotional regulation, making daily tasks, learning, and social interactions easier. By improving the connection between body and mind, this therapy boosts confidence, independence, and overall well-being, helping children succeed at home, in school, and in social settings.
How it helps:
Body Schema & Perception: Develops body awareness, organization, and orientation, helping children understand their body’s position in space and improve self-movement control.
Coordination & Motor Skills: Enhances gross and fine motor coordination, including dynamic/static balance, dexterity, bimanual coordination, and eye-hand coordination, essential for daily tasks and academic activities.
Handwriting Skills: Strengthens pencil grip, posture, pressure control, precision, and speed, improving writing clarity, fluency, and overall comfort.
Tonicity & Muscle Control: Supports muscle tone regulation, helping children adjust and control tension for better posture, movement, and emotional balance.
Laterality Awareness: Reinforces left/right knowledge, mastering the use of the dominant hand, foot, and eye for improved coordination and motor efficiency.
Focus, Executive & Cognitive Functions: Boosts attention, memory, problem-solving, planning, organization, and mental flexibility, promoting independent learning and academic success.
Time & Spatial Awareness: Strengthens understanding of time concepts (days, months, sequencing, time management) and spatial orientation (directionality, positioning, visual-perceptive analysis), helping children structure their activities and navigate space efficiently.
Emotional & Social Development: Enhances self-regulation, confidence, and social skills through verbal and nonverbal communication. Supports understanding and expressing emotions, facial expressions, joint attention, and imitation, fostering positive interactions.
Sensory Processing & Modulation: Helps children process and respond to sensory input (auditory, tactile, visual, proprioceptive, vestibular, olfactory, taste), improving adaptation to their environment.
Independence & Daily Life Skills: Encourages autonomy in self-care, organization, and daily routines, building confidence in everyday tasks.
Parent & Teacher Support: Provides families and educators with practical strategies to help children succeed in both academic and social environments, strengthening parent-child communication and overall development.
Every psychomotor therapy journey with me begins with an initial consultation, where I meet with you and your child to discuss concerns, medical history, and development. This allows me to gain a deeper understanding of your child’s needs.
Next, I conduct a comprehensive assessment, using both clinical observation and standardized psychomotor tests to identify your child’s strengths, challenges, and specific areas of development. Based on this, I create an individualized therapy plan with clear, targeted goals to support their progress at home, school, and in daily life. I also collaborate closely with parents, teachers, and other specialists if needed to ensure a holistic approach. Regular follow-ups allow me to adjust the plan as your child grows and develops, ensuring continuous progress.
My goal is to make therapy an enjoyable, engaging, interactive, and enriching experience for every child while empowering parents to support their child’s growth beyond the therapy room. I create a safe, supportive environment where children feel confident to express themselves, explore their abilities, and develop new skills—all while having fun!
Each session is personalized to fit your child's unique needs and may include:
Warm-up & Body Awareness: I use gentle exercises, relaxation, and breathing techniques to help children connect with their body and prepare for activities.
Motor & Coordination Activities: Through fun movement-based games, I work on balance, posture, movement control, and fine motor skills to support daily tasks like handwriting and self-care.
Cognitive & Executive Function Training: I integrate engaging activities that improve focus, memory, problem-solving, planning, and understanding of time and space in a natural and enjoyable way.
Sensory Integration: I introduce playful sensory experiences like tactile exploration, movement games, and deep pressure activities to help children process and respond appropriately to sensory input.
Emotional Regulation: I guide children through creative and movement-based strategies, including breathing techniques, role-playing, and storytelling, to support their self-regulation, confidence, and emotional expression.
Symbolic & Interactive Play: I encourage imagination, creativity, and communication through role-playing, art, and movement-based games, helping children express their emotions and interact with others in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
Daily Life Skills & Independence: I incorporate activities that help children practice everyday tasks like organizing their belongings, using utensils, and following routines, making these skills feel natural, practical, and fun.
