Bio

Ms. Jasmin Dearden is a Physiotherapist at Medcare Medical Centre. She obtained her Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy from the University of Southampton, UK and a  Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy and Dry Needling from Dubai, UAE. She is a member of the Healthcare Professional Council, UK, and the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand. 

Ms. Dearden received invaluable experience working as a Physiotherapist at NHS, UK in the Outpatient Department and at Bupa, UK in the Inpatient Palliative Care. This was followed by a great learning opportunity in Inpatient Rehabilitation and front door therapy at NHS, UK. She then moved to the UAE and worked at the Dubai Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre before joining Medcare.

Ms. Dearden’s expertise covers a range of sports massage therapy and dry needling. She is skilled in musculoskeletal rehabilitation that includes ACL injuries, tendinopathy, fractures (displaced, non-displaced, hairline), Osgood-Schlatter disease, low back pain, hand and wrist rehabilitation and plantar fasciitis (foot rehabilitation). She is proficient in respiratory physiotherapy, pulmonary rehabilitation, early mobilisation and airway clearance techniques. She also performs neuro-rehabilitation for spinal cord injuries, stroke, traumatic brain injuries, multiple sclerosis, Parkinsons disease and cerebral palsy.

She enjoys sports and outdoor activities and spending time with family in her spare time. She keeps fit by playing Tennis and Padel, horse riding and swimming. She speaks Afrikaans and English fluently.
